Learning in Technicolor
Here is another awesome blog for teachers! This blog is called Learning in Technicolor and is written by Lyn Hilt. Hilt has been an elementary and middle school teacher, as well as a principal for an elementary school. Now she is a mother and works to integrate technology into the classroom for her school district. Her blog has also been nominated for two awards: the 2011 Edublog and the 2010 Edublog - Best School Administrator Blog.
One of her blog posts is about Ethical Leadership. Normally when we think of a leader, we think of someone giving commands or guiding people to follow their ways and ideas. This post discusses the role of ethics in leadership. The four main ethics she discusses are care, justice, critique, and professionalism. These four ethics shape the way we view the world and how we as teachers serve our students. I really like this article because it causes the reader to really think and it offers good advice for teachers to learn from.
Overall, I definitely recommend this blog to other teachers for many reasons. One, this blog has many thought provoking articles and tips for teachers. Two, this article has many ways to integrate technology into the classroom and how to troubleshoot problems that come with technology. This blog was very interesting and I am excited to continue to learn more from it!
